Stories for Change
The world is messed up. I think we all have that feeling in the pits of our stomachs that things aren't quite right. Wanna change it? Think about this.
Ancient Israel's King David had an affair with a woman named Bathsheba and killed her husband so they could be together. As the story goes, the prophet Nathan came to David and told him a story about a rich man who had a flock of sheep, but stole a poor man's only lamb to feed his friends. David pronounced an immediate judgement of death upon the rich man, and that's when Nathan said "You are the man."
Nathan didn't come raging in judgement, he didn't passive aggressively malign King David. He simply told a story, and King David pronounced judgement upon himself.
Want things to change? You have no choice, you must tell stories.
